Alan Baumlein

An all-district selection at both positions as a junior, Alan Baumlein ended his high school football career as a four-year letterman. He also earned three letters in track and two in wrestling at McComb. Alan Baumlein was an All-Ohio football player at McComb and an all-district linebacker at Findlay College in the 1980s. As a senior at McComb in 1982, Baumlein helped lead the Panthers to a 10-0 regular season and the school’s first playoff berth. The offensive guard and linebacker was named Ohio Class A Lineman of the Year by The Associated Press and United Press International and compiled a school-record 153 tackles enroute to first-team, all-state honors as a linebacker. He was a 5-time Blanchard Valley Conference Player of the Week. At Findlay College, Baumlein was a 2-time all-district and 3-time all-conference linebacker. In his sophomore and junior seasons, the Oilers’ defense was No. 2 in the NAIA when he led the team in tackles and a combined five interceptions. He added five more interceptions as a senior, when he had a school-record 128 tackles plus 6 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and a blocked punt. Baumlein is currently Executive Pastor at Christ’s Church in Mason, Ohio. He and his wife, Tina, have two children, Nikolaus and Rebekah.
