Albert Laux

Albert Laux, who is the only Findlay High varsity boys coach in history, is also the winningest D-I soccer coach in Ohio high school history with a superb 397-156-58 record over 31 seasons.

He grew up with the game in his native Germany and he has instilled a passion for the game in his players during a highly successful career. His legacy includes 18 league championships, 19 sectionals, 9 district and 2 regional championships. The 1979 FHS squad was a state runner-up, finishing with a 22-1-0 record, and the 1995 Trojans’ team went 19-5 as state runners-up. After posting a 5-7-4 in the first year of boys’ soccer at FHS, Laux-coached teams reeled off 14 straight winning campaigns.

He coached 15 unbeaten conference championship teams. Seven of his players received national honors, 21 were accorded all-Ohio honors, 36 earned all-Ohio academic laurels and several played college soccer. Albert taught Mathematics for 32 years.
