


Arlington native Bill Alge has officiated football for over 30 years, licensed by the Ohio High School Athletic Association since 1967 and worked in the Ohio Athletic Conference from 1985-1992. Alge is currently a Mid-American Conference referee and officiated in the Las Vegas Bowl (1996), the MAC championship (1998), the Micron.pc.com Bowl (1999), the Tangerine Bowl (2002) and the Cotton Bowl in 2005. He has also officiated games at Ohio State, Notre Dame, Boston College, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Colorado State and Connecticut. Alge is a member of the Findlay Officials Association and the Ohio Association of Football Officials. He also provides instruction at various football clinics each year. A 1968 Ohio Northern graduate, Alge served in the U.S. Army (1968-1970). He then earned his J.D. degree from ONU in 1973 and is a partner in the law firm of Snyder, Alge & Welch, specializing in Social Security disability cases. While at Arlington, Alge helped the Red Devils capture conference titles in football, basketball and track in 1963-64 as an all-county selection in football and basketball and an all-district second-team player.
