

Bill Faine distinguished himself as an all-Ohio basketball player at Cory-Rawson High School and went on to an outstanding career at Bowling Green State University. Faine earned Associated Press all-Ohio first-team honors in 1980 and scored 1,364 points during his prep career at Cory-Rawson. He set school records of 56 points in a game, the season rebound record of 388, hit 35 consecutive free throws and had an individual high of 27 rebounds during the 1979-80 season. At Bowling Green State University, Faine earned Mid-American Conference honors in 1983 when he was the Falcons’ leading rebounder. He was elected team captain in 1984 and joined the Bowling Green 1,000-point club. His performance and character on the court, blended with his love of basketball, has gained him respect and admiration from young players he has helped develop with his coaching techniques.
