

Bob Moore was an integral part of the undefeated 1947-48 Findlay High School state championship basketball team, earning all-tournament honors after being selected a first-team all-Buckeye League pick and honorable mention all-Ohio player. He entered Ohio State University in 1948 and as a sophomore was a member of the Buckeyes’ 1950 Big 10 Conference championship squad. He played for two more years at OSU before earning a degree in education. Moore’s teaching career began in 1953 at Liberty Township where he also served as the junior varsity and varsity basketball coach. In 1956, he returned to Glenwood Junior High as an Industrial Arts and Mathematics teacher. During a 22-year coaching career at Glenwood, Moore guided the freshmen basketball squad and served as a football assistant. In 1960, Moore coached a Little League team to the city championship and then served as an assistant on the 1972 American Legion baseball team which advanced to the World Series. Moore always stressed fundaments and discipline during his coaching and teaching careers.
