Bob Morgan

Bob Morgan has compiled an eight-year record of 328-166-3 as head baseball coach at Indiana University. He guided the Hoosiers in their first-ever appearance in the Big Ten championship playoffs and a 38-21-1 record during the 1991 campaign. Indiana’s 57-victory total in 1985 set a school mark for wins in a season, and in the spring of 1991 the Hoosiers won a school-record 15 Big Ten Conference games. Overall, Morgan has an outstanding 620-253 record as a 16-year college head baseball coach, including a six-year 213-48-2 mark at Kent State. His teams at the College of Wooster had four Ohio Athletic Conference division championships and five appearances in the NCAA Division III regionals. He has coached 35 players who have signed pro contracts, four all-Americans, three Academic all-Americans and an Olympic Gold medalist. The Findlay native pitched the Ohio University Bobcats to Mid-American Conference championships in 1968 and 1969, while earning second-team MAC honors in 1969. He was signed by the Detroit Tigers in 1969 and pitched in the Tigers’ farm system through the 1972 season. Morgan was three-year letterman in football and baseball at Findlay High and the baseball team captain as an FHS senior.
