

Byron “By” Morgan spent 32 years coaching football at the high school and collegiate level, guiding Findlay College into its first NAIA playoff berth in 1964 and compiling a 56-56-2 record at the school from 1963-1975. Morgan earned Ohio Coach of the Year honors in 1964, coached wins in the Ohio Shrine Bowl in 1972 and 1973, guided the Oilers to a Hoosier-Buckeye Collegiate Conference title in 1971, had 11 nationally ranked teams, coached 32 All-Americans, and served as president of the NAIA Football Coaches Association at which time the organization adopted the two-division playoff concept. The Mogadore native and a 1940 Geneva (Pa.) College graduate, received his master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1949 had coaching stints at New Brighton, Pennsylvania, Youngstown Boardman and Geneva as well as Findlay, compiling an overall record of 143-110-9. Morgan is an inductee of the Mogadore High School, Geneva College and Findlay College halls of fame.
