Carl Bachman

Carl Bachman won 477 games and lost 126 contests during a 43-year high school basketball coaching career, which included 34 seasons at Findlay High School. He led Findlay’s 1948 team to a state championship with a 27-0 record. Five times Bachman recorded undefeated regular seasons – 1944, 1948, 1950, 1951, 1955 – with nine teams advancing to the state tournament. Bachman originated the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association and served as its president for the first two years of its existence. He was named to the OHSBCA Hall ofFame in 1965. A five-sports star at Bowling Green State University, Bachman earned 13 varsity letters and set a national collegiate football record for most extra points kicked in a game – 19 vs. Findlay College. The record still stands today. Bachman graduated from Cygnet High School and Bowling Green State University. He was inducted into the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1966.
