Cassie Walters

Cassie Walters won a state track championship as a junior and then became the first Arcadia female basketball player to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Walters captured the Class A high jump crown in 1983 with a school-record 5-foot-5 performance. She followed that with a third-place effort in the 1984 high jump (5-5) when she was also a member of the second-place 800 relay (1:46.55) squad. As a freshman, she was fourth (16-11½) in the long jump. In basketball, Walters capped off a superb career as the Blanchard Valley Conference Player of the Year when she finished with 1,387 total points. She was a three-time all-BVC selection, earned first Associated Press Northwest Ohio recognition in 1984, was a second team United Press International all-Ohio pick and a third team Associated Press honoree. Walters averaged double figures in both scoring and rebounding.
