Cheryl Stacy

Cheryl Stacy, who began a professional golf career in 1986, was a 6-time mini-tour champion before qualifying for the LPGA Tour and participating in 22 events in 1991, the same year she fired a 68 and qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open. Stacy ranked sixth on the all-time Futures Tour after playing an Asian Tour (1993) and participating in the Konica Cup World Ladies Invitational in Japan (1988). She won the Ohio State Women’s Amateur title (1984 & 1985); was co-medalist and runner-up in the U.S. Women’s Amateur (1985); and the low amateur in the Jamie Farr Classic (1984 & 1985). At Ohio State, Stacy was a 2-time NCAA All-American, 3-time all-Big Ten selection, a 3-time team MVP, won two Big Ten titles (1984 & 1985) and placed fifth in the 1984 NCAA championships. As junior golfer, Stacy was the Optimist Junior World Championship runner-up (1978), a 4-time winner of the Ohio Girls Invitational (1978-82), a 2-time Ohio State Junior titlist (1979-80) and a 3-year letter winner on the Findlay High golf team. Stacy is in her fifth year as head professional at the Maumee Sportsmall.
