Chuck Rogers

Chuck Rogers, who played on Big 10 basketball and baseball championship teams at the University of Michigan, was signed to a professional baseball contract by the Chicago Cubs. A hard-throwing right-handed pitcher, Rogers played three seasons for Wichita in the Class AAA American Association, before playing in the Mexican League for five years. After graduating from Findlay High school in 1972, he helped lead the Findlay American Legion team to the national tournament, where he won two games. He handed, eventual champion Ballwin, Missouri, its only loss. Rogers, who pitched three seasons for Michigan, was named to the All-American team as a junior. He guided the Wolverines to the Big 10 baseball crown in 1975, one year after playing on a Big 10 basketball championship squad. At Findlay High, Rogers had an 18-1 record in tournament games and pitched Findlay to an Ohio State title. During his basketball career at Findlay High the team won two Buckeye Conference Championships.
