

Vanlue native Dennis Lee has had a huge amount of success in a unique capacity as the head football coach and head girls’ basketball coach at Bluffton. He has coached each team to the state finals, the Pirates’ football team in 1991 and the girls’ basketball squad in 1999-2000. Along the way, Lee has registered 483 overall victories with a record of 140-61 in football and a 343-219 mark in basketball. His football teams have made seen playoff appearance and have won or shared six Northwest Conference championships in 19 seasons. In basketball, Lee’s Bluffton squads have won six NWC titles, going unbeaten in conference play four times, won 14 sectional titles, made seven regional appearances and played in the state semifinals in 1998-99 during a 25-year career. He was named the OHSBC Division III Coach of the Year in 1996-97. At Vanlue, Lee earned nine varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball. He is a 1978 graduate of Ohio Northern University.
