Don Renninger

Findlay’s Don Renninger, who made a name for himself as a player and a coach, excelled at Findlay College in football, basketball and baseball. On the gridiron, Renninger was an outstanding quarterback for the Oilers. He received all-conference and all-Ohio honorable mention in 1939, then was picked as a member of the Midwest College all-stars to play against the Cleveland Rams in1940. In basketball, Renninger lettered three times and earned all-conference honorable mention for the 1939-40 season. He also lettered two seasons in baseball at FC. Renninger, who lives in Findlay, graduated from college in 1940. He was inducted into the FC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1971. Renninger was the Oilers’ athletics director for 14 years and coached football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, track, golf and soccer at the college. He served as president of the Mid-Ohio Conference, chairman of NAIA District 22 and as a mayor of Findlay.
