

Forest ‘Tot’ Pressnell was a Major League pitcher for five seasons in the National League – 1938-42 – with the Chicago Cubs and the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was named to the 1938 All-Star Rookie team as a right-handed pitcher. The knuckleball pitcher had a career total of 143 wins and 122 losses in the Major and Minor Leagues. In his debut with the Dodgers, Pressnell shut out the Philadelphia Phillies 9-0. He appeared in Johnny Vander Meer’s second straight no-hit game. Pressnell was the ace of the old Milwaukee Brewers staff (Class AAA) in 1936 with 19 victories and in 1937 with 18 wins. He won three games in the Little World Series against the International League. Pressnell was inducted into the Ohio Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. Pressnell graduated from Findlay High School.
