George Keller still holds the Hancock County prep basketball record for the most career point – 1,876 – which he scored while playing for Cory-Rawson High School. However, that was only the beginning for this offensive machine. Keller averaged 24 points and 16 rebounds per game at Findlay College during his senior season in 1960, when he was named an NAIA All-American and the Oilers advanced to the NAIA national championships in Kansas City. He finished a three-year Findlay College career with 1,389 points and was inducted into the Oilers’ Hall of Fame in 1984. Keller’s excellence was well recognized on the national level when he received a tryout for the 1960 U.S. Olympic team and was drafted by the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association. In 1961-62, Keller was selected to play for the Army All-Star team. He coached basketball at Arcadia between 1964-75.
