Following her father, Dean, and her brother, Andy, Jana Butler Sullinger is the third member of the Butler family to be inducted into the Hancock Sports Hall of Fame. Jana was a four-year starter in basketball and volleyball at Liberty-Benton High School, earning honorable mention all-Ohio in volleyball and first team all-Ohio in basketball. In her senior season, she led the state in scoring (31.1 ppg) and rebounds (14.7). Her 213 free throws made in a season ranks fourth all-time in Ohio basketball history. She still holds several Liberty-Benton records, including 716 points in a season, most free throws in a season (213) and career (496), and most field goals (20) in a game, season (249) and a career (582). In four years, she scored 1,665 points and led L-B to a 71-19 record. Following graduation, Jana was a 3-year starter in basketball at Miami (Ohio) after appearing in every game as a freshman. She scored in double digits 12 times her junior year and had a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) vs. Kent State. In her career, she scored 694 points and snared 487 rebounds while shooting 64 percent from the free throw line. In her four years, Jana helped the RedHawks to an overall record of 70-46.
