Jana (Dearth) Conley sprinted to eight Division III state track titles—four each as an individual and on winning Cory-Rawson relay teams—from 1997-99. Her 14 state medals overall included three for victories in 1997, when the Hornets also won the team championship, and four for titles the following year, when Cory-Rawson was state runner-up. Throughout her high school career, she was undefeated in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes in the Blanchard Valley Conference and district meets. She won 13 BVC titles in all. Also, an Academic all-Ohioan in 1998, she went on to run for two years at Ohio University, where she was named to the Academic all-Mid-American Conference team both years. The OU track team’s freshman MVP in 2000, she anchored its 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams—as she had in high school as well—in addition to running the 100 and 200. After earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism from OU in 2003, she worked in public relations at St. Ursula Academy and Hart Associates in Toledo before becoming a stay-at-home mother. She and her husband, Josh, live in Sylvania with their three children, Landin, McKenna and Logan.
