

In July 2018, after serving for 31 years as a teacher, coach, athletic director and administrator, Jerry Snodgrass was named the Executive Director of the Ohio High School Athletic Association. An Upper Sandusky and BGSU graduate, Snodgrass began his career at Defiance City Schools, followed by stints at Ridgedale and Bryan. In 1983, he was hired as a teacher and coach by the Findlay City Schools, where he stayed for the next 25 years. At Findlay High, he spent nine years as the head boys’ basketball coach and 16 years as the athletic director.
Before joining the OHSAA as an assistant commissioner in 2008, Snodgrass earned his master’s degree (University of Dayton), served as President of the Northwest District Athletic Board, on the University of Findlay’s Sport and Hospitality Management Advisory Board and served a 2-year term on the OHSAA Board of Directors. He is the 11th Executive Director of the OHSAA in its 111 years of existence. Snodgrass was inducted into the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Hall of Fame and was selected as the OHSAA’s Naismith Meritorious Service Award in 2010. In 2018 he received the OHSAA’s prestigious Ethics and Integrity Award.
