Jim Carder

Jim Carder became a two-time NAIA All-American basketball performer during an illustrious Findlay College career. The four-time NAIA District 22 selection finished as the No. 2 all-time leading scorer in FC history with 2,079 points. Carder, who played alongside twin brother Jerry for four seasons, helped lead FC to four straight NAIA District 22 appearances and a berth in the NAIA national tournament in 1966-67.

The 1968 FC graduate and Delphos native spent 25 years as a coach of football, basketball, baseball, cross country and golf at Lima Central Catholic. In 12 seasons, Carder’s golf teams made four state tournament appearances, won a pair of regional, district and sectional titles as well as three Lima City championships.

Carder, who also spent 11 years as a Lima Junior Golf Association administrator, continues to teach in the Lima school system.
