Jim Inniger earned eight varsity letters at Arlington and then was a four-year baseball letterman at Otterbein College from 1971-75. At Otterbein, Inniger compiled a 13-0 record through his junior year, guiding the Cardinals to runner-up finishes in the Ohio Conference regular-season and tournament play, and earning all-conference honors. He was 17-3 during his career at Otterbein. Four of his high school letters came in baseball (1968-71). Inniger was voted the Arlington MVP as a junior and senior, going unbeaten with a 0.71 earned run average as a junior and batting over .450 while pitching the Red Devils into the regional finals. As a three-year letter winner in football, he had back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons, returned two punts for touchdowns against McComb, was selected all-conference twice and accorded all-state honors as a senior after Arlington finished as co-champions in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Inniger was also the starting point guard and averaged 11 points per game as Arlington won the 1970-71 BVC basketball title.
