


John Tinsman is already a two-time Hall of Fame inductee, honored for his longtime service as an athletic trainer at Fostoria High school. His 34-year career spanned four decades (1962-1996) and he was inducted into the Ohio Athletic Trainers Hall of Fame in 1992 and had the same honors bestowed by Fostoria High School in 2005. He was a charter member of the Ohio Athletic Trainers Association and was recognized in 1987 for 25 years of service by the National Athletic Trainers Association. After graduating from Findlay College, Tinsman began his career at Lincolnview as a junior high baseball coach. Stints as junior high basketball and football coach along with high school assisted wrestling duties eventually gave way to his athletic trainer duties at Fostoria. In 1955, Tinsman was part of the first Findlay High baseball team to play since 1941 and as a senior won both games of a doubleheader against Sylvania. He went on to play at Findlay College, striking out 9, walking 5 and driving in all three runs in a 3-1 win over Cedarville in his first collegiate start. He was a 3-year letterman for FC.
