Katie Butler

Liberty-Benton grad Katie Butler joins her father Dean, brother Andy and sister Jana in the Hancock Sports Hall of Fame. Katie not only earned 12 varsity letters (volleyball, basketball and track), but also was all-Ohio in three sports. In basketball, she is the all-time Liberty-Benton leading scorer with 1,868 points. Twice she was the BVC Player of the Year and a first-team all-Ohio player. She also holds school records for career rebounds (955) and career blocked shots (359). In volleyball, Katie was the BVC Player of the Year her senior year and second-team all-Ohio, and in track she placed fifth in the discus at the state meet. Following graduation in 2003, Katie spent two years playing basketball for the University of Dayton before transferring to Northern Kentucky University. In two seasons, she helped NKU to a 48-13 record and two trips to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. The daughter of Vickie and the late Dean Butler, Katie is an Assistant Vice President/Retail Risk and Administration Manager for Fifth Third Bank in Columbus.
