Kris Alge

Kris Alge was a three-sport letterman at Arlington, quarterbacked the University of Findlay team to a 12-1 record in 1985 and has spent 14 years as head football coach at McComb. He has a 120-41 record at McComb, made nine playoff appearances, taken four teams to the regional finals, has had three 12-1 teams and won three Blanchard Valley Conference titles. Alge was the 2000 Division VI Coach of the Year. He has coached three BVC track champions and five runner-up teams since 1991. He began his coaching career at Van Buren. At UF, Alge was a first-team all-conference and all-district quarterback and punter in 1985, guiding the Oilers to the national semifinals as a team captain in 1985. He passed for over 2,000 yards, 22 TDs, a career completion percentage of .570 with a 39.3 punting average that gained him free agent contracts with the Cleveland Browns (1986) and Philadelphia Eagles (1987). He was also a four-year baseball letterman, earning all-conference in 1985 with a .355 batting average and a league-leading 2.35 earned run average. The 1982 Arlington graduate lettered four years in baseball, three in football and two in basketball, earning all-BVC honors in football and basketball as a senior.
