

Mark Mueller began rifle shooting competitively in 1962 and was awarded the Distinguished High Power Rifleman Award, a special honor recognizing a shooter’s proficiency and presented to less than one percent of rifle competitors. Mueller was the 1970 Ohio 3-Position and Outdoor champion in the sharpshooter class. He was the earned International Air Rifle champion at the U.S. Army Reserve, Chief Army Reserve World Postal Match in the mid-1980s, was named to the all-Ohio High Power Rifle Team (1987), won the Ohio Indoor and National Indoor Sectional titles (1988), and added Ohio Outdoor titles in the master class and as a member of the championship team. As a collegian (1970-73) at The Ohio State University, he earned 4 varsity letters, was named to the Big Ten rifle team 3 times and was a member of 3 Big Ten and 3 National Intercollegiate Sectional championship teams. As a junior shooter, Mueller was a 4-time state champion, competed in the Division “A” national junior indoor championships. He was selected for the all-Ohio Junior Team which won the national outdoor title in the expert class.
