
Maxine Bowman’s association with the sport of bowling has spanned 40 years at the local, state and national level. She spent a great deal of her life instructing individuals how to bowl and promoting the sport as a member of city bowling workshops and as a bowling proprietor. As a competitor, she bowled for 40 years, appearing in 32 city tournaments, 20 state and 10 WIBC national tournaments. Bowmen served 21 years as a vice-president of the Findlay Area Women’s Bowling Association. She helped form the Findlay Area Junior Bowling Association and served as the organization’s president for 16 years. She has been part of the FAWBA Board of Directors since its formation. Bowman and her husband, Bob, owned and operated Recreation Lanes bowling center for nearly 40 years. She was inducted into the FAWBA Hall of Fame for her meritorious service in 1988 and is a member emeritus of the FAWBA.
