Michael Slough

Michael “Doc” Slough, a Findlay native, served his alma mater as the Findlay High School athletic trainer for all sports for 29 years. His training career paralleled a 32-year teaching tenure at Findlay High as well. Slough was a 20-year member of the Ohio High School Football Association and helped develop the Ohio Athletic Trainers Association as one of its charter members. He was honored for his long service in 2001 when he was inducted into the OATA Hall of Fame. He was selected three times as trainer for the high school East/West All-Star football game, served a 20-year stint as a trainer for sectional and regional basketball tournaments and along the way also was the trainer for many track, hockey and youth sports events. Slough served as Findlay Youth Baseball president from 1983-88. The 1964 FHS graduate was a 3-year football and track performer for the Trojans and played one year of basketball. He spent one season on the Mount Union football squad, transferred to Ohio Northern where he received his bachelor’s degree in education and then earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Bowling Green State University.
