Micki Bish became an 11-time all-Ohio runner, competing in track and cross country at Liberty-Benton during a stellar four-year career from 1984-88. She earned four of those all-Ohio honors in cross country, leading the Eagles to three state championships and a runner-up finish. Then in track, Bish was an all-Ohioan seven times, claiming state Class “A” titles in the 1,600 (1988) and twice in the 3,200-meter run (1986 & 1988). She never lost a Blanchard Valley Conference race, and she still holds two conference records. Bish went on to star first at Southwestern Michigan College as a national qualifier and was a two-time national qualifier in both the marathon and cross country at the University of Findlay. In all, she claimed four varsity letters and earned all-district recognition at UF. A Hancock County native, Bish won two national titles in the Junior Olympics age group championships and set a record of 5:09.0 in the BVC junior high mile.
