

Mike Lee is joining sister Kathy and brother Dennis as an inductee into the Hancock Sports Hall of Fame.
Mike graduated from Vanlue in 1976 where he played basketball and baseball. He was hired as the Minster varsity boys basketball coach in 1993 after teaching and coaching sub-varsity basketball at Continental and Anna.
In his 23 years at Minster, Mike led the Wildcats to 12 sectional and 6 district titles. His 2005 team reached the state semifinals, where Minster suffered an 86-84 double overtime loss to Lutheran East. After the 2016 season, Mike retired as Minster’s winningest basketball coach.
Following two seasons as the varsity assistant at Van Buren, he became the varsity boys coach at Pandora-Gilboa where he led the Rockets to two Putnam County titles and two Blanchard Valley Conference crowns. In 2025, Mike got his 400th win with a 41-30 victory at Continental where he started his career 45 years ago. In March of 2026, after seven seasons as the P-G coach and 411 career wins, he retired from coaching.
His awards include the Mac Morrison Lifetime Service Award (2017), the Bob Arnzen Award (2013) and induction into the Minster Athletic Hall of Fame (2018). Mike lives in Findlay and continues to coach the Pandora-Gilboa varsity basketball team.
