Nathan Hyde

Nathan Hyde was a highly productive and successful basketball player for eight consecutive seasons, first at Liberty-Benton and then at the University of Findlay.

The 2007 L-B grad was a career 84 percent free throw shooter and a 40 percent shooter beyond the arc. Nathan started a school best 96 varsity basketball games and he is the L-B career scoring leader with 1,750 points. Four times he was a first team All-Blanchard Valley Conference honoree and a 2-time BVC Player of the Year recipient. As a senior, Nathan was named the Ohio Division III Player of the Year.

Playing at the University of Findlay, Nathan was the team’s leading scorer twice. As a starter on the 2008-09 team, he helped the Oilers to an undefeated 36-0 season and the NCAA Division II national title. For his college career, he scored 1,528 points, shot 90% from the free throw line and made 43% of 3-point shots. Twice he was named GLIAC first team and was the GLIAC Tournament MVP as a junior. In 2010-11, he was selected as a first team NCAA Division II All-American.

Nathan and his wife, Samantha, have two children, Hazel and Everett, and live in Fort Wayne where he is a Physician Assistant.
