Steve Morehead

Steve Morehead, affectionately known as ‘The Findlay Flyer’, has become one of the United States’ most successful dirt track motorcycle racers after posting 14 National Victories during a 14-year professional career. Morehead completed his most successful season in 1988 when he finished fourth in the American Motorcyclist Association Grand National Championship series point standings. He won four national championship races in 1988 while placing among the top 10 in eight other major events. In addition, he became the first Triple Crown winner of the ‘Old Time Newsies for Charity’ and was the nation’s top-ranked privateer. A member of the Ohio Motorcycle Hall of Fame, Morehead has won 12 Ohio State championships since beginning his professional career in 1972. He has finished among the top 10 in the point standings during 11 of 14 seasons, while accumulating 117 wins as a pro. Morehead won his first national race 1978 and received Harley-Davidson factory rider sponsorship the following year.
