



Steve Trout tied a national field goal record while at Findlay College, excelled in basketball, baseball and football at Riverdale High School and became a highly respected volleyball and basketball official. Trout kicked a record-tying 5 field goals against Defiance College in 1972 and had a career-long and FC record 53-yard field goal against Wilmington. He also lettered four years in baseball. He then played in the World Fast Pitch softball tournament (1984) and on three national tourney teams during the 1980s. At Riverdale, he lettered 2 years in basketball and 4 years in both baseball and football, earning all-Ohio honors as a member of Riverdale’s only 10-0 football squad. During his officiating career, Trout worked in 12 boys (8 final games) and one girls state tournament; officiated the 1997 & 1999 NCAA Division II Final Four; and seven Ohio volleyball state tournaments. Since 1974, Trout has taught and coached at New Knoxville.
