Terry Wymer

Terry Wymer, a 1982 University of Findlay graduate, is regarded as one of the top men’s NCAA Division I basketball officials in the country. He has officiated two NCAA Division I men’s championship games (2016 & 2018) and a pair of national semifinals (2013 & 2014). His 2016 final featured Villanova’s game-winning 3-pointer against Houston, while 2018 title clash was between the Michigan-Loyola-Chicago winner and the Villanova-Kansas victor. After graduating from North Baltimore, Wymer received a biology degree from UF, where he was a member of the 1979 NAIA National Championship team and a first baseman, who set an Oilers’ record for best fielding percentage in a season. Wymer began officiating high school basketball in 1984 and Division I in 1994. Since then, he has worked in the Mid-American, Big Ten, Atlantic Coast, Southeastern, Big 12, American Athletic and Atlantic 10 conferences as well as the Horizon League. In addition to his four Final Four appearances, Wymer has worked 6 Big Ten title games, 11 Mid-American championship contests and 15 Summit League title games. In all, he has officiated in 17 of the past 18 NCAA tournaments.
