

Walter “Pinky” Wilson compiled a 32-12-1 record as football coach at Findlay High from 1937 through 1941. After going 4-5 in 1937, Wilson’s Trojans teams posted records of 6-3, 7-2, 8-1 and 7-1-1 over the last four campaigns, winning a league championship in 1940.
The New Concord native lettered in football, baseball, track and basketball at John Glenn High School and was a 1928 Muskingum College graduate. He was a four-year quarterback at Muskingum and lettered in baseball, track and basketball.
Wilson received his master’s degree in physical education from Ohio State. He coached for seven years at Xenia before moving on to Findlay. He later became the backfield coach at Miami (Ohio) in 1942, served in the Naval Air Corps, returned to Miami in 1946 and was the backfield coach at Purdue from 1947-1953.
